“Find your purpose in life,
and share the journey with others”
| |
Please remember, NO ONE wants to get
the wings and go Riding with Angels before it is their time. So please Ride as
Safe as possible. We don’t want to preach, or sound like your parents, but we
honestly care about you, your safety and your well-being when you are riding.
We would like to share some ideas and
links to help you be a safer rider/passenger!
1. Wear protective gear ALL THE GEAR-- ALL THE TIME
include a DOT approved
helmet. Sure it may not always save your
life, BUT THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT IT COULD!
Don’t think just because you are going
on a low speed ride, that you don’t need it. It doesn’t take much to crack
your skull. Be sensible!

2. DO NOT RIDE IMPAIRED BY ALCOHOL OR OTHER DRUGS
Don’t get trashed and “try” to ride.
We have all seen them and shook our heads! Don’t be “THAT GUY”!
Sure we all like to go out and have
fun! Know your limit and don’t wait until a crash to find out what your
limit is. I saw people in Daytona who could not walk, falling just trying to
mount their bike.
Stop drinking before heading out!
Get something to eat, drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea.
Drinking water can be COOL. If you’re tired, ask for some coffee.
Even if you are on the back seat, please be careful! I have personally
known gals that have fallen off and broken bones and even have died!
Riding with a passenger - Quick Tips
Get a ride home! Most bars will gladly call you a cab or even
will have an employee or owner take you home. They want your repeat
business. Many will even push your bike into the bar that night so it is
safe.
If you don’t drink often, don’t go to a rally and expect to be able to
drink all day. You may have been able to when you were young, but look
in the mirror, you are not young anymore!!!
As we get older, we may be taking medications, know how they
affect you with alcohol and your ability to drive~
REMEMBER:
DUI’s are expensive! You can cause yourself, or someone
else to get their wings before they are ready, you can lose your license,
job, career, spouse, car/motorcycle, and so much more
3. Try to ride in small groups when possible!
There is safety in numbers!
Don’t race each other!
